to three boys:

1.
Dignity? I have none. I am here for anyone if you don't take too much.
And I don't really mind if you don't thank me
for being literally a shoulder for you to literally lean on.
But your hand on my waist
is not your place.
Brushing the hair from my face
is not your place.
There's a line you can't cross, but I'm not sure you understand. And I've never been one to push people back.
Don't take that step. I already feel like I'm hurtling down a well.

2.
You're the reason I can't get out of bed in the morning. You have no place in my life, but I want you anyway.

3.
I clicked your name before I remembered how just seeing your photo makes light paper things flutter in my chest. I've never been able to resist your smile. I'll probably never tell you that. But if you call me that name again I might have to tell you what it means, because hearing the word and knowing it's empty mix me up until all I know is that I saw you first.
